Dr Avital Pearlman

Chartered Clinical Psychologist

Dr Avital Pearlman is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in working with individuals, couples and families who are on their parenting journey. This includes those who are experiencing infertility, have suffered miscarriage and loss and parents who are struggling with anxiety and low mood during pregnancy or following the birth of their baby. Avital also works with mothers and fathers who have experienced trauma during birth or during the early years of parenthood and works to support parents in finding a safe space to explore their experiences.

Avital has worked in the Feeding Disorders team at GOSH and is aware of the impact having a baby with severe reflux and feeding difficulties can have on early attachment and bonding. Avital has also worked in paediatric and CAMHS settings and often works with adolescents who are struggling with their transition to young adulthood.

Avital uses an integrated approach to therapy, with attachment theory and systemic therapy at the heart of her work. Avital also has training in trauma therapy, CBT and psychodynamic therapy.

Avital has worked in private practice since 2016 and previously worked and trained in the NHS. Her doctorate was obtained from the University of East London. Avital is registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
