Avital is a certified Clinical Psychologist who has worked in child, family and perinatal settings for the past 8 years. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals and couples who have found that the journey to parenthood isn’t as they had imagined, and works together with them to understand the array of issues that can arise, including; difficulty conceiving, miscarriage and loss, anxiety during and after pregnancy, post-partum depression and complex emotions that arise within in the parent-infant attachment process.
Avital has specialist experience in working with families where the child has a diagnosis of a learning difficulty, Autism Spectrum Disorder and related diagnoses and is passionate about supporting families in understanding diagnoses and their impact, whilst always holding the child in mind.
In addition, Avital has worked in specialist Paediatric settings, such as the Feeding Disorder Service at GOSH and Hillingdon Hospital, where she led the Feeding Clinic and supported children and families in managing the emotional impact of both short-term and chronic illness and re-negotiating family life within this context. Avital’s roles included direct therapeutic work with families, including assessment, individual and family therapy and liaison with other professionals.
Avital offers a range of therapeutic models in working with, individuals, children and families, these include; Systemic, Psychodynamic, CBT, Solution Focussed and Attachment Models. Avital works with the range of issues mentioned by supporting individuals and families in finding strength and resilience that can be used in managing current challenges.
Avital is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
